Concurso gótico. Tale 7. A Legend from Beni Snassen

It is said that in the mountains of Beni Snassen, north-west Morocco, where the wind blows with a woman’s voice and the night smells of damp earth, there once lived two brothers and their daughters.

One of them was bald, with a serene face and dark eyes. The other had long, glowing hair, as black as if it took up the moonlight.

The two girls grew up together like sisters. But the bald one’s heart was full with envy. Every time the sunlight slided through her cousin’s hair, something inside her would burn in silence. Until one day, consumed by that blind fire, she led her cousin to the foot of a thorn tree hidden deep in the forest. With trembling hands, she took the girl’s hair and tangled it in the branches until she was trapped.

The young girl screamed, begged, and cried. Their parents ran to help her, but the thorns were stronger than them. Every attempt to free her made her bleed. In the end, exhausted and broken, they left her there, trusting that sunrise would save her. But the sunrise never came for her. Only a light. A strange light began to visit her each night (a distant spark that moved among the trees, like an eye watching her). The girl shook and spoke aloud:

“If you are my father’s light, come closer; but if you belong to the devil… stay away from me.”

Every night she repeated the same words, waiting for an answer. And each night, the light remained silent, barely moving. Until one new moon night that, tired of waiting, she whispered: “If you are the devil’s light… come closer.”

Then the light rushed toward her, burning like white fire. A shadow with a man’s face (the devil disguised as a rescuer) rose from the glare. He tried to pull up the thorns away, but not even his hellish strength could break them. Furious, he took a knife of light and cut her hair, that symbol of beauty and pride.

The echo of the cut rolled across the entire forest. The girls of the village felt a chill, and sadness. There would never again be a hair as beautiful as hers.

The devil looked at her in silence. He had taken what she loved the most, and in return, he kept her soul. From that moment on, the young girl never cried again. Her tears turned into dust. Her heart, once white and pure, became black as the darkness.

It is said that, since then, she walks through the forests of Beni Snassen, a faceless figure, veiled in shadows where her hair once had fallen.

And on new moon nights, when the wind whispers through the thorn trees, you can hear her whispering: “If you are my father’s light, come closer… and if you are the devil, stay away from me.”

But it is far too late. The devil now lives inside her. This story has been told from generation to generation ever since.

Concurso gótico. Tale 8. A Supernatural Story

I´m going to tell you the supernatural story that happened to my brother´s friend, he told me this story and is a little creepy and weird. His name was Randall.

Once upon in time, Randall was on a party with his family because it was his birthday. They were very happy until his family realized that Randall wasn´t there, they felt so worried about him. On the other side when Randall disappeared he needed to go to the bathroom, given that the party was in his garden. His house was near of a really scaring deserted country road. People on his town always said that everyone needed to be on alert, because in the last years there happened a lot of things that nobody could explain. When Randall went to the bathroom, he suddenly saw a shadow that he couldn´t see very well, he was a little scared but he thought that maybe he was his father´s friend. But he didn´t know how wrong he was so when he went to open the door of his bathroom, sudenly appeared a person that he didn't know , he just look atractive, with dark hair, blue eyes, tall. He was staring at him intensely, but at the same time he was looking so serious. There was a long silence and that misterious guy just couldn´t stop to look at him.

The point is that Randall was adopted when he was a child, he didn´t know anything about his true family. The mysterious guy was called Elijah and the truth is that he was his true brother. Elijah took him to go to his abandoned castle. Randall was unconscious and when he woke up,he found himself looking around very worried. Elijah told him that he was a vampire, Randall was scared, he just couldn't believed it. He was confused with all the story.

Elijah told him that his family died a long time ago and that´s why they gave up for adoption to him, he had spent a lot of time looking for Randall. After that they spent a lot of time together, so long that his adopted family thought that he was dead because Randall never returned. With Elijah he could felt that he was part of something, he had a brother with his own blood, but not for long. What Randall didn't know is that the vampires are not inmortal. And one day when Elijah returned to the castle at night he was worried, only one werewolf bite can kill a vampire. So that's why he arrived worried; what he thought that was a myth became reality, and he was going to die.

And all he could do was say goodbye to Randall but before dying he told him the truth that Randall had been wondering about, Why wasn't he a vampire? It was because Elijah hypnotized him before giving him up for adoption and forced him to behave like a human and after that... Elijah died and when a vampire dies, the obligation is also eliminated, so after a long time Elijah found his brother but it was too late.

He told me all the story. I really was in shock and after sometime he disappeared when he was able to become a vampire again, and nobody ever heared from him again.

Concurso gótico. Tale 14. The Shadow in the Alley

The rain hit hard the windows as Marcos ran down the dark alley. He heard a noise behind him, and his heart started beating fast. He looked back but he saw no one, only shadows moving between the trash cans.

Suddenly, something fell to the ground: a shiny metal object under the streetlight. Marcos picked it up and felt a chill. It was an old key.

He felt as it someone was watching him. His steps were fast, but his fear grew faster. He heard a whisper: “You shouldn’t be here…” He ran toward the alley’s exit, but the path was blocked by a dark figure. The figure moved slowly while Marcos searched for something to defend himself. His hand touched a metal bar lying on the ground. He was breathing hard; every second felt like forever.

A black cat ran across, distracting the figure for a moment. Marcos took the chance and turned, running toward an open door at the end of the alley.

He entered and closed the door, feeling relieved... for a moment... Because outside, the shadow was still there, waiting...
